Two pilot unions at Air India have claimed that there is a shortage of pilots to operate the airline's long-haul and ultra-long haul flights. Among all the age groups, millennials are most likely to seek new employment, with 37 per cent stating that they are "extremely or very likely" to switch. For Gen Z and Gen X, this figure stands at 33 per cent and 29 per cent, respectively.
